Nintendo Switch, A “New Way to Play”

Has anyone thrown a game controller through a television recently?  It has been over 10 years since Nintendo introduced the Wii.  We have a new gaming option that was released March 3rd of 2017.  This new gaming console, Nintendo Switch, will give a “new way to play” according to Tatsumi Kimishima, the President of Nintendo.

The Wii was great at getting the gaming community to be more physically active.  In fact, the game Just Dance was developed specifically for the Nintendo Wii, and had people sweating like an orange at a juice bar. Similarly, the game 1-2-Switch adds a “new way to play” to in gaming–social interaction.  It was developed to highlight what a Nintendo Switch is all about.  Gamers will be looking into each other’s faces rather than primarily looking into a screen.  “Look deep into my eyes and tell me what you see.”  I see I’m going to win this game.  That’s a “Switch”.

Reginald Fils-Aimé, president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, points out the main difference between Nintendo Switch and other gaming consoles.  He informs us that the Nintendo Switch is “a home console that you can take with you on the go”.  The Switch is a cross between a home gaming console and a tablet.  We no longer need to stay at home to break televisions.  So get out there and discover a “new way to play”, and throw game controllers through things you never thought possible.
